Asher Miller

Asher joined Post Carbon Institute in March, 2008. Asher has worked in various capacities in the nonprofit sector, most recently as founder of Climate Changers, an organization that inspires people to reduce their impact on the climate by focusing on simple and achievable actions anyone can take. Previously, he was Youth Manager at the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County; Partnership Director at Plugged In; International Production Coordinator at Steven Spielberg's Shoah Foundation; a ghostwriter; and a consultant for a number of other nonprofit groups. He recently served as a member of Senator John Edwards' Cleantech / Green Business Advisory Committee. Born in the Netherlands, he's lived in Israel and across the United States. He currently lives in Santa Rosa, CA with his wife and two year old son.

Relocalization Network Coordinator


Shelby Tay

(based in Vancouver, British Columbia)
Shelby has been working with Post Carbon Institute since 2005 coordinating the Relocalization Network program. She holds an Honours BSc. in Environmental Sciences with a concentration in ecology from the University of British Columbia, where she led a seminar course on globalization and the environment. She has also participated on the organizing committees for Vancouver's 30 Days of Sustainability, A Loving Spoonful, Global Habitat Festival and the Climate Cafes Collective, and is always looking for exciting opportunities to explore in the community. Shelby enjoys taking photos, biking around the city and spending an afternoon with a book, and is hoping to complete a permaculture certification program in the near future.
